Crispin School

Absence Procedures

At Crispin we have a minimum target attendance of 96% for all students.

Good attendance is essential if any student is to make the most of their ability and perform well in examinations.

Good attendance shows commitment and a desire to learn. The first question asked when prospective employers or schools/colleges ask for references is frequently related to attendance. This often comes before questions about honesty or examination results.

Attendance matters leaflet

Absences must be notified every day.

We need to make you aware that if absences over 3 days occur, the school will require one of the following form of evidence

Acceptable Medical Evidence:

  • Doctors apt card
  • Copy/ Screen shot of prescription
  • Screen shot of the medication box with the patient name and date on it.
  • If a phone call is made to the surgery, you can go in and ask the receptionist to print out proof of the call.

If not visiting a doctors for any reason:

  • Seeing a pharmacist to seek advice. They can write you a note to say you have attended a consultation with them and the best course of treatment. Please ensure this is signed and dated with your child’s name clearly stated.

In both cases WE DO NOT REQUIRE a GP letter.

If you wish to discuss this further, please do not hesitate to contact the House Office of your child on 01458 442714.

If your child has to leave during the school day

It is of vital importance that you follow this procedure if your child needs to leave school during the course of the day.

Please send an electronic message using the ClassCharts Parent app stating the time, date and reason for your child to leave school.  Parents need to come to Visitor Reception so that we can let Student Reception know that you are here to collect your child.

When the student leaves, they must sign out at Student Reception. If they will be returning, they must sign back in again at Student Reception upon arrival.
